The Coastal Georgia Area Community Action Authority will sponsor a community-wide health fair for members of Liberty, Long, Bryan, Camden, Glynn, McIntosh, Tattnall and Wayne counties from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Glynn Place Mall in Brunswick. Organizers say the fair is designed to increase health awareness for the community through education and prevention.
Participating community-action agencies reach out to low-income people in their communities, address their needs through a comprehensive approach, develop partnerships with other community organizations, involve low-income clients in the agencies’ operations and administer programs designed to eliminate poverty.
Coastal Georgia Area Community Action Authority representatives say the health fair will provide a valuable service to the community. Basic health screening, immunizations, blood pressure and glucose checks will be available. Booths will be set up to offer attendees information on health-related programs, services and providers in the region. The fair is open to adults and children.
