JESUP — Wayne Memorial Hospital recently added another orthopedic surgeon to its roster of physicians. Dr. Greg White will open his practice, Sports Medicine and Rehab Therapy,  in mid-April in Wayne County. With more than 19 years of experience, White and his wife, Robin, are coming to Jesup from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., which is on the outskirts of Nashville.
White received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, La. He completed his internship and residency at the University of New York in Stony Brook, N.Y. He is board certified in orthopedics and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. White will handle all types of orthopedic problems and issues, such as joint replacements, sports medicine, athletic injuries and carpel tunnel as well as worker’s compensation-related problems. White will perform his surgeries and procedures at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The doctor served with the United States Army Reserves for 11 years and said he is eager to move to the Southeastern shoreline. “We are looking forward to the move to Jesup. Being a native Floridian, it will be nice to be closer to family,” White said. “We found the Wayne County Community and Wayne Memorial Hospital to be very friendly and welcoming. We are excited to be coming here.”
“We have needed an additional orthopedic surgeon at Wayne Memorial, but have been very picky in our recruiting efforts,” said Wayne Memorial Hospital CEO Joe Ierardi. “Dr. White has the experience, education and the personality we believe will work well in our community and in our hospital. We are very pleased to offer our patients such a fine physician and our community another invested neighbor.”
White and his wife have three grown daughters. In his spare time, the doctor plays golf, pilots airplanes and watches football.
