JACKSONVILLE - Authorities say a 57-year-old Jacksonville woman has died after contracting the West Nile virus.
The Duval County Health Department also confirmed Monday her death is the second this year from the mosquito-borne illness.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/mQkN2n ) reports the health department now has 12 confirmed cases of West Nile in Duval County this year. The latest case involves a 43-year-old man.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms of West Nile include fever, headache, neck stiffness, body aches or a rash on the stomach, chest or back.
