Long County C.A.R.E.S. is soliciting residents who need assistance because of cancer or other life-altering condition.

Members of the year-old nonprofit said several residents of the county have been provided funds to help with their care, but that they could help more. The organization relies on donations and fundraisers. Members are all volunteers.

The next fundraiser will be a bucket drive at the traffic light on Highway 84 on July 1.

Residents who seek help have to fill out an applications but volunteers offer to help and encourage all individuals qualifying for assistance to contact them.
