The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted Southern Cooks LIVE on Friday.

August’s guest was Joey Prince, a Midway police officer and volunteer board member of the Hinesville Area Arts Council.

Prince lives in Hinesville and said he finds joy and relaxation in cooking; especially using recipes from the past.

“I am very fortunate to have known all four of my grandparents and three of my great-grandparents,” he said. “I got to spend a lot of time in the kitchen growing up.”

He prepared a traditional Southern dessert, hummingbird cake, on the show

LCCVB streams Southern Cooks LIVE once a month on its Explore Liberty Facebook page. If you are interested in being a guest, call LCCVB at 912-368-3580. It is always looking for new people to feature.
