The Morning Glory Garden Club planted a tree Feb. 17 in Main Street Park in honor of deceased club supporter Olin Fraser.
The tree, a forest pansy redbud, was planted on Hinesville’s Arbor Day. The club dedicates trees planted on Arbor Day to the memory of a deceased club member or relative of a member who died during the previous year.
Fraser, a native of Liberty County, died in 2011. He and his wife, Peggy, invited the public to tour their home and garden on many occasions and participated in the Garden Club of Georgia’s tour of historic homes and gardens. The Fraser’s house is on the National Register of Historic Homes.
