Dr. Ralph Warnock will be keynote speaker at the Liberty Branch NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet on Oct. 13 at the John McIver Auditorium in Midway.

Warnock, senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, delivered the closing prayer at President Barack Obama’s 2013 inauguration.

A reception begins at 6 p.m. The program and dinner begin at 7. Attire is semi-formal.

The banquet is to engage residents and recognize those who “show that they share our cause by their actions,” according to the NAACP release.

Money raised will provide scholarships for high school graduates and leadership training. Those who want to support the NAACP can do so by purchasing ads in the souvenir booklet and buying tickets, which cost $50 each.
