New Miss Hinesville crowned

Shayna Brown was chosen as Miss Hinesville 2009 by the judges from a group of seven young ladies the evening of Nov. 15.
More than 150 people gathered at Bradwell Institute to watch the 2009 pageant.
Brown, 19, is the daughter of Tim and Julie Brown. She attends Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where she is a sophomore majoring in psychology with a minor in Spanish.
Winning in the Junior Miss Division, Aubrey Stevenson is the daughter of Daphne and Douglas Stevenson of Hinesville. She attends Liberty County High School and is in the 10th grade.
Ashley Riles took the honors as Miss Hospitality Hinesville queen. She is the daughter of Karen Boggs and Karl Riles. She attends Snelson-Golden Middle School and is in the eighth grade.
Teen Miss Hinesville queen crown went to Catherine Scaggs, daughter of William and Cherie Scaggs. She attends First Presbyterian Christian Academy where she is in the 10th grade.
In the Pre-Teen Miss Hinesville Division was Xena Lewallen took the crown. She is the 11-year-old daughter of Michelle Lewallen and attends Walker elementary in Long County.
Chantal Smith, Miss Hinesville 2007-08 and Sarah Balance, Junior Miss Hinesville 2007-08 did the honors of crowning the incoming queens.
In completing her reign as Miss Hinesville Smith received a $1,000 scholarship and Balance received a $500 savings bond.
