The ninth annual Christmas in the Park hosted by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and the Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau will not have reindeer this year because of an unexpected price increase.

Despite this, the Chamber and CVB moved forward with planning. There will instead be a petting zoo from Three Oaks Farm.

All entertainment slots for Christmas in the Park have been filled. Entertainment for the evening will include To the Point dance team, the Liberty Elementary chorus and drama team, Inspirations Performance Studio, the Girl Scouts, Snelson-Golden Middle School’s Step Team and Cheryl Brett Dance Studio.

The evening will conclude with the singing of “Silent Night” and the lighting of the community Christmas tree between 7 and 7:30 p.m.

Christmas in the Park will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the Bradwell Park area in downtown Hinesville, and the event is free and open to the public. For more information about Christmas in the Park, contact the Chamber at 368-4445 or visit the Christmas Events 2015 page at www.libertycounty.org.

Currently, the event is being sponsored by Harris Ace Hardware, the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, McDonald’s, Savannah Technical College, South Georgia Bank and Stop N Stor. Sponsorship is still open, and details can be obtained by calling Amber Barbaro at 912-368-4445 or emailing sales@libertycounty.org.
