As part of the National Education Association’s effort to build a nation of readers with its signature program, “Read Across America,” elementary schools on Fort Stewart, in Long County and in Richmond Hill will participate March 1-8 in Read Across America.
Children will be encouraged to read through events, partnerships and reading resources.
The annual reading celebration usually takes place on or near March 2, the birthday of famous children’s author Dr. Seuss.
These area schools are seeking soldiers, civilians and family members to volunteer as readers. If interested, call the schools.
