Frances Mobley of Hinesville recently visited the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association National Museum at Bryant Commons on Highway 84. Mobley recalled operating a telephone switchboard like the one pictured behind her while she was employed at Coastal Utilities for more than 40 years. She retired as chief operator. The ITPA has been serving the public on behalf of telecommunications companies for more than 90 years and represents more than 9,000 telecommunications employers and retirees nationwide.
