At its annual banquet June 21, the Rotary Club of Hinesville awarded $1,000 college scholarships to three recent graduates.
The recipients were Brandon Standard of First Presbyterian Christian Academy, who will study pharmacy at Mercer University; Brandee Craig of Bradwell Institute, who will study nursing at Georgia State University; and Jeanna Rountree of Liberty County High School, who will study biology at LaGrange College. There were 21 qualified applicants from Liberty County. The selection was made based on academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to the community-service ideals shared by Rotary.
The Hinesville Rotary scholarships are funded through various fundraising events conducted throughout the year.
