Army Staff Sgt. Viva R. Greene has received the Meritorious Service Medal.
The medal is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious service to the United States in noncombat situations.
Greene, a human-resource specialist with 19 years of military service, regularly is assigned to the 1st Battalion, 19th Field Artillery, based out of Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
She is the daughter of Henrietta Smith of Hinesville.

Dingle graduates from basic

Air Force Airman 1st Class Anthony L. Dingle graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He is the son of Deloris and Leon Dingle of Midway.
Dingle graduated from Bradwell Institute in 2010.

Boykins graduates from training course

Army National Guard Pfc. Jonthan S. Boykins has graduated from the Basic Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
Boykins is the son of Jennifer R. Fort of Hinesville.
