Snelson-Golden Middle School had its third annual Miss SGMS pageant on Feb. 29.
The pageant was created as a fundraiser by the SGMS cheerleaders to raise money for cheerleading competitions, uniforms and other events during the school year. Sixteen sixth, seventh and eighth grade contestants competed in the areas of casual wear, interviews and evening wear competition.
Pageant directors were Stephanie Denkins and Daphne Smith.
The winner of the 2008 Miss Snelson-Golden Pageant was Shelby Morgan Clark, the daughter of Pete and Becky Clark.
This year's first runner-up was Jennifer Nicole Kato and second runner up was Jasmine Lenora Jordan.
