Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

This is about the transport east entrance. My understanding is that it cost the taxpayers of Liberty County over $2 million for that ridiculous entrance. Not only could it have gone to the animal shelter, but throughout the county, to benefit all of the residents.

The comment about Georgia crackers just showed the caller’s ignorance. And on top of that I’d like the newspaper to know that it showed their ignorance as well for publishing the word.
If a war came there would be no winner. The water and food chain will be unusable. We fight among each other, there are no winners.

I was shocked at a car wash last week when a 9-year-old boy attempted to assist me. I know the economy is bad, but enforcing child labor is ridiculous.

I have a response to the caller about the Crackers not being able to understand that $10 a week is more than they got under George W. Bush. Well I got a one-time check for $600. And $10 a week is only $520 a year. They should do their math before putting something stupid out.
