Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Concerning the budget cuts coming down from the federal government and state to local schools, why don’t they do away with middle school sports? We don’t have regions and competition, real competition anyway. So they might as well do away with it because the high schools have freshman teams.

 Come on Courier, there are other players on the Bradwell soccer team besides the ones you keep showing over and over again. Show some recognition to other players.

 OK, I find this a little ridiculous. Every five feet or less, the school bus stops to let kids off. Come on, they could let them all off at one place.

 I haven’t seen anything on television that the price of crude oil has gone up, yet the price of gasoline is going up at the pump. Please explain.

If we’re going to open a Christian massage parlor, let’s open a Christian beer and liquor parlor on Sundays.

 I’m a resident of Woodland Lakes Resort in Midway and we recently elected a board to serve our community. In the process, they are selling lots and none have real estate licenses. And they are planning to open a pool this summer. That is very unsafe.

 This is to the Georgia cracker who called saying he was going to average only about $10 under the stimulus package. Well, just think, that’s $10 you didn’t have under George W.

God is so great and, people, don’t forget it.
