Sound off for Aug. 1

Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Thanks to the Hinesville Fire Department. Two dear firemen gave us a free smoke detector inspection and free detector. What a helpful service. They were informative, professional and friendly and we really appreciate it.

I am referring to the sound off in the July 21 paper about your man driving an Explorer or Expedition. Can you please write back and tell us what color Explorer or Expedition?

I admire the candidate that is helping the children in Tahiti, but do we really need an elected official that is gone several times a year for up to 30 days at a time?

Could someone please fix those small potholes in front of Bennett’s and the one on 196 right near Crane Tire Company?

To all those people in Hinesville who like to complain about city ordinances, I would like to say get a life. You people are trying to control other people and telling them to get rid of their junk cars and mow their lawns and control their life. Why don’t you look at your own house and get your own life and stop telling people what to do?
