Here are issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

OK, Liberty Consolidated Planning Committee, LCDA, Friends of Liberty, there’s a solution to your problem. You need outside revenue generated. Create something. Bring in tourism. It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out.

How in the world can you call a bank at 7:30 in the morning, the automated number, and it says all circuits are busy? Nobody’s up at that time calling that many times.

I see where the Liberty County Frontline printed the articles about the upcoming football season. However, again, they forgot Long County, where my child attends.

That punishment for that sex offender was too light. It would be nice if every week they printed the list of all convictions in Liberty County, with pictures, showing their crime and punishment. It would be a crime deterrent.

Why don’t they just start school a week after Labor Day and then they wouldn’t have to have any teacher furloughs at all? And if the kids miss too many days of classes, just blame the parents. They can take it again.

If there is any money left after the traffic circle and new legal center, can we possibly get the clock on the courthouse repaired again, maybe this time with a warranty?

This goes out to all the individuals who think they can walk through this life and do people wrong and not get caught. Either you’ll be caught by the police or God. And at this point I’d rather have the police deal with me.

How come Yellow Cab doesn’t have to abide by public safety rules hauling their passengers. The cabs are endangering the public. If you don’t believe it, have them all inspected.
