Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

If the majority of U.S. citizens believe in God, why then shouldn’t the other folks have to pay the $1 charge to keep His name off of their license plates instead of the majority having to pay to put it on? What kind of stupidity is that? This is the United States, isn’t it?

It’s nice to see such a close-knit family in the Long County commissioner’s office.

When man becomes as a god over other people, it’s time for God to step in. When man tries to treat other people like they’re little ants, then God will show up. He deals in earth, wind and fire and He will suffer consequences upon you and smite you with a curse.

Where’s the medicine that doesn’t make you sick? The medicine makes you sicker than the sickness and this is before they have cutbacks, so when the cutbacks come, we’ll be sicker than we are now.
