Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I was looking at my cell phone bill and I noticed that Liberty County 911 has a fee and a Liberty County sales tax. How in the world can Liberty County charge me on my cell phone when it’s not through Liberty County? It’s through a totally different place in Atlanta. I don’t understand this. Now I know how they can afford to build those huge buildings in Hinesville.

Walthourville, wake up and see what’s going on. It’s getting election time. We need new people in office. We need to remove all family members who are in office. We cannot move ahead if we still have all those family members. We need new leadership. Ms. Pray is doing a great job, but we need some council members to assist her in moving the city forward.

I know what we need in Hinesville for the kids — a big water park. That would be nice for the kids here in Liberty County.
