Sound off for Dec. 18

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

So they are rebuilding the football field behind the board of education, and workers can’t get a decent pay raise. I mean a raise that makes you say “wow,” but they have money to spend on foolishness. That’s a shame.

When are we going to get a decent place to eat around here? So the Sizzler has closed, and Shoney’s. Well, what about Sticky Fingers, Carrabbas or Smokey Bones? They have that up north.

Hinesville needs a skating rink or a nice bowling alley for the kids here. Not everyone can go on Fort Stewart, and you wonder why the crime is so high here. That will create more jobs, and they will stay out of trouble.

To the person who was complaining about the NIV Bible leaving out 135 verses and changing to the King James Bible, I will remind you: King James, when he wrote his version, left out many books and verses because it suited him. Better read your Catholic Bibles, that’s the only complete one.

To Sunday’s caller complaining about your co-worker talking too much during the day, the Bible teaches us if you have a problem with your brother, go to him. So why don’t you pull your co-worker aside and tell them that they talk too much. Maybe they just don’t know. Instead of calling Sound off, grow up.

Thank you, Len, for writing the Midway perspective. We are so thankful for helping us see the light of how the Midway government is run. We had a good mayor for a while, but people did not accept him very long. We just need new people running the government in Midway.
