Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Why do people come in after dark with $100 bills and expect to break it for $5? And then they get mad when you can’t. It makes no sense.

I noticed the Courier publishing tributes to veterans, but they seem to be just World War II and Korean. What about our local Vietnam vets? There are many of them in town.

I do not expect something for nothing. But to put a price in the paper for turkey at 47 cents a pound, and then on the side you’ve got to spend $35 in other purchases, I do not think it’s a good thing.

Just going to church doesn’t make you a good person.
