Here are some of the issues that area residents are discusssing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Happy holidays for all? For those families that left the area for the holidays and left their beloved family pets in their backyard to fend for themselves, this is inhumane and against the law. Shame on you.

I think the people who go to bingo at Fort Stewart make a lot of money for moral support. There should at least be hot meals for them, and better accommodations. People sit there for five hours; a lot of people stopped going there because of this reason.

City employees, it’s January 2012. So remember that all the city employees who got a pay raise are the selfish ones that voted themselves a raise, and this includes the one that voted against the pay increase.

Hinesville has status quo. Just for show, don’t know, go with the flow and slow. Thank God for JF.

I saw an enormous amount of assault and violence at an AA meeting on a senior citizen from a woman and two men. The police should have been called. They make you turn off your cell phone — no wonder they’re anonymous. I’m not going back.
