Here are some issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Junk cars, it’s not just restricted to Madison Avenue. You can look in any neighborhood. But if the code enforcement office needs directions just look down Ridgewood Way to see huge mud-bogging type trucks, some operable, some not.

We’re not having earthquakes because we’re depleting the Earth of oil. If that was true there would be a ton of them in Texas and Oklahoma. It’s called tectonic plate movements.

We were told when we voted for the lottery it was for education. Now they are proposing all these cut backs. We’re also told Georgia takes in the most money from its lottery. What part of this does not compute?

I’m watching this show, “Toddlers in Tiaras,” and can’t believe they treat these little girls this way, to win a trophy and some cash. It’s pure trash. If I had a daughter, I’d never treat her like that.

To the caller who is sick and tired of Obama blaming others for his mistakes: Actually when he does something and has responsibility for it, he will step up. Bush messed up a lot of stuff and when people accept that we’ll be able to move on.

Community service is a pre-req for graduation these days. I graduated in 1965 and never heard of such a thing. Can someone explain?

Tea bags come in all flavors and blends now. It even comes in black. I wonder if God is trying to tell us something that the devil might have hid from us? Where will we spend eternity?
