Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I just want to remind people that these are the days of the Obama Great Depression. Obama is bankrupting this country.

To the people who were on South Main Street by the church who tried to help me with the station wagon: I want to thank you for blowing my head gasket. I told you to let me crank the car and get it running.

Opinions are like human bottoms. Everybody’s got one, and sometimes I am a real human bottom. Under that heading, I was in Vietnam. I served in Vietnam. These people going around wearing Vietnam-era hats, it’s just wrong.

At the 16th green on Cherokee Rose sits a house that looks kind of like the city dump and a junk yard combined. The resident works on jalopies in the driveway. What about the law against that, as well as the number of vehicles versus licensed drivers in the house?

Why are preachers and evangelists using the hello in their sermons now? One pastor used it about 20 times, and I just do not like it.
