Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Regarding comments on repair shops in neighborhoods: I agree. Look around and you’ll see that people have worked on their own and friends’ cars and now they’re just sitting in the yards for years. They shouldn’t be rezoned, just banned.

In response to the call about why the Hinesville VFW and Midway Legion are the only organizations that help veterans. Just look at page 5A of this paper and you’ll see the DAV has two people per day five days a week helping disabled veterans obtain their benefits.

Why is a married church preacher always seen riding with an unmarried Catholic educator? Is nothing sacred anymore?

Let’s all support Gen. Cucolo to get those letters of reprimand to the pregnant soldiers.

I salute Gen. Cucolo’s court-martial policy. He should court-martial that E5 for disrespect, fraternization and not being an NCO.

Sheriff Martin should not be exempt from getting a ticket. If I rear-ended another vehicle, the first officer there would write me a ticket.

It’s a real shame you get better bargains in stores off post than in the commissary and PX. What happened to taking care of our soldiers?
