These are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The messages were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we now what motivated the callers.

Can someone please tell me why, right before payday on post the commissary prices are constantly going up? The commissary is supposed to be there for the military families. And why can’t they ever keep the store stocked?

Can someone tell me if I’m wrong? When you have a thunderstorm and it’s raining pretty heavily and you have your windshield wipers on, aren’t you supposed to have your headlights on? If that’s true, please tell the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department. They need to enforce it because it’s dangerous.

Oh, I guess I was wrong. It must not be a law to have your headlights on in the rain. I just passed a deputy on 196, no headlights in the middle of a rainstorm. I guess we can all do it if it’s not being enforced.
To the person that prints the TV section, reference the shaded areas: please sit in a dark room with sunglasses. That is how hard it is for us with poor vision to see the shaded areas.

Kudos and accolades to the caller who said the NAACP doesn’t represent me.
