These are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The messages were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we now what motivated the callers.

It would be interesting for the Coastal Courier to do a survey of how many non-black people who have been stopped by police and are angry, but too embarrassed to complain.

If a non-black were to call the NAACP to complain about the CSU, they would not have acted on it and that is racial profiling. Disband the NAACP nationwide.

I am a lifelong resident of Liberty County and a long-time member of the NAACP. I’m appalled and ashamed of our NAACP president. We should work toward solving a problem and not inciting a riot.

Hey, mayor, before you were elected there was racial profiling. Now that you’re elected there are high ethical standards. What changed?

Why, every time, church people have issues they always blame the church as a whole? Be responsible for your own problems.

I’d like to see Liston Singletary, president of the NAACP here, run for public office.

I think it should be against the law for pawnshops to buy and sell Medals of Honor, Silver Stars and Purple Hearts. I’m retired military and think I should be able to say this.
