Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

It’s a shame Obama didn’t come and visit the troops that died for our country. He should have come to Warriors Walk and shown some respect for them.

New Hope Church of the Nazarene has the Angel Food program. We also take food stamps. This is good, quality food.

Can anyone please tell me whether the smoke issue inside bars is a health issue and where you can find out about the safety of it?

You are either country or you’re not. You are either Southern or you’re not. If you were not born in the South, you can’t be a Southern gal. So stop pretending to be something you’re not.

I too support the joke at the tire service. Speak no English, no service.

I see where the county is going back on their vacation again, and the city and all the other municipalities. Being we’re in such dire straits for money this is very wasteful spending. I will remember this at voting time.

I would like to know why the basketball coaches in Liberty County always pick the same children to make the teams. If you never give anybody else’s child a chance, you never know what they can do. That is not fair.

How can we pay those officials in Hinesville all this money and cut education? Somebody’s sleeping. We need to wake up.
