Referencing the Wednesday paper’s letter to the editor to the commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division: That is right on target in many neighborhoods, to include mine. My neighborhood has been devalued so bad, it’s pitiful, because of, firstly, lack of code enforcements and upkeep and maintenance by the city council, and secondly, because of the lack of control of soldiers once they leave that gate. They’re still in the Army. In the Army I came from, discipline was enforced. You don’t have to go write tabs on them; all you have to do is have your NCOs know where the soldier lives when he lives off post.
I think the school board is furloughing teachers again for next year. But why are they still hiring people at the board of education office? And they’re all from Atlanta. Does it make any sense, or they just can’t cut it in Atlanta and we get all their flunkies? Doesn’t make sense.
This is to the caller that said he or she spent three days at city hall looking for a Republican. What you should have done was look in the closet. That’s where the majority of the Republicans in Liberty County spend their time.
Come what may, there will be a new representative for District 6 on the school board. And to that I say, let the sideshow begin.
