Referencing the Wednesday paper’s letter to the editor to the commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division: That is right on target in many neighborhoods, to include mine. My neighborhood has been devalued so bad, it’s pitiful, because of, firstly, lack of code enforcements and upkeep and maintenance by the city council, and secondly, because of the lack of control of soldiers once they leave that gate. They’re still in the Army. In the Army I came from, discipline was enforced. You don’t have to go write tabs on them; all you have to do is have your NCOs know where the soldier lives when he lives off post.
