Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

My neighbors have done so many improvements on their home. It doesn’t even look like the same house. It’s a great improvement. I wish everyone would take the time to improve their home.

When a neighbor destroys some of your property they should have the decency to pay for it. But I do get satisfaction knowing that when I called the police they got a DUI for it.

I think us Georgia crackers ought to have a tea party because we are going to average only about $10 out of that big old stimulus package.

Whoever is being paid to clean the restrooms at Cherokee Rose ought to be fired.

Now that Goody’s is closed, you have the parking lot and you could restore the building for a vet clinic that they were trying to find a place for.

That dilapidated house on Bagley belongs to me, not the city nor county. They can’t take down what doesn’t belong to them.

I was looking at your sports section, that game day where there are activities and sports events for that day. It listed all kinds of basketball, but no golf. Golf is a sport, if you don’t know.

Since homes in the Hinesville area are now selling for more than $100,000, it would be nice if we could get a mall and, yeah, a water-theme park. Something, man, because we’ve got to offset the costs somehow. Taxes are too high.

I know we are in a recession, but why is Canoochee posting seven extra days on our bills? I guess they think we are so stupid we can’t count.

Does anyone notice the difference between the entrance to the Midway Industrial Park and Tradeport East? It looks like a lot of money was spent on Tradeport.
