Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the caller:

You know we should impeach all these council members and mayors because I can’t vote my pay raise and I’m the one suffering. I’m just a normal human being.

It’s time for change in our mayor…and city council. It’s time to form a Tea Party and get rid of these money-spending people we have in office. It’s time to elect people in there who are responsible.

Let’s all support new illegal immigrant laws. That’s what we need here in Georgia.

Instead of wasting billions and billions on health care reform and ignoring every other problem we have, President Obama should have been working on the immigration problem.

Why are people still buying homes? Do you people not watch the news? There are foreclosures everywhere. They keep raising the rates. Are the people naïve, or just without commons sense?
If there are certain people in the tax books paying taxes on a lot of buildings, if there are like six or more buildings on their property and they are not their home, someone needs to check into that.

I do not understand why they want to get these Mexicans out of the U.S. It’s not just Mexicans that are illegal. There’s people from Canada, Ireland, from Spain, Puerto Rico. There are all over illegal aliens. I don’t have nothing against the Mexicans. They work hard.
