Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

It’s not fair that stuff gets donated to Goodwill and the employees pick through it before the public can see it. If it gets donated then everyone should have an equal opportunity to the merchandise.

The intersection at Sandy Run Drive and Highway 84 is a death trap. Does someone have to get killed before we get a traffic light there?

That monument that’s going to be built in the Memorial Drive traffic circle, should it be a taxpayer impaled on a screw?

What’s up with the Long County Rec. Department? It’s not organized and now games are scheduled on Wednesdays. We never had that before.

The mayor goes to Washington to get money for the businesses that lost money during the deployment, but then they don’t support our own city. Why don’t they plan here?
