Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated callers:

I now understand what living on a fixed income means. My husband recently retired from 22 years active duty in the military. I sometimes have to decide whether to buy my diabetic medication and test strips or do I buy food. The economy is horrible.

Bradwell, please take note from the 2006 graduation, when the speaker system didn’t work and the students were seated at the other end of the stadium so parents on the far end couldn’t see them. I have another student graduating and I want to see her walk the stage and hear her name.

I’m calling about our local telephone company’s remotes. They used to be well maintained, but now it looks like jungles. Are they going broke?

We need some competition in Hinesville for Comcast. My computer went out and I’ve got to wait six days to get it repaired.

I think it’s wrong to use American flags to represent child abuse like they are around the Savannah Mall. The flag is for patriotism, for the soldier. They should have maybe some broken down teddy bears to represent victims of abuse.
