Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

The name Georgia cracker is no different than saying North Carolina tar heel or Oklahoma sooner or some other state’s something else.

It would be something if God could really read your mind and determine really why you are drinking tea.

Hey, people of Hinesville, beware. Fast food places around here are advertising one price on the menu board and charging you something else. And the excuse they can’t do anything because the company programs the register is BS.

People in this county are so jealous of each other, especially the women.

I’m not trying to be negative, but I read about the officials going to Washington to debate that. Washington, the government, doesn’t care about a little town like Hinesville. There are trillions of little towns and many, many, many military bases.

So MACE team members stated they asked for $300,000 last year but got only $140,000 from poor old Long Countians. And they want more. You know what I say, sink or swim like the rest of us.
I recently applied for a job at an oil change place and their word to me was we don’t hire women. That’s discrimination. If a woman can do the job and she’s got the experience and certificates, why can’t she be hired?

Cry, cry, cry, Liberty County and Hinesville. Why don’t you think about bringing business and jobs by cutting these ridiculous taxes? Our property taxes keep going up, but the value is going down. I wish they’d close Fort Stewart.
