Sound off for Nov. 20

Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

A Sound off caller recently said he’s tired of people picking on the president because he is the first African-American president. Well, he’s not an African-American. He’s a man of color, but he’s not an American. He hasn’t brought his birth certificate forward to prove he’s an American.

I seen where they give you $8,000 tax credit when you buy a house. That’s fine, but what happens when those $800 or $900 or $1,200 a month house payments start? And you’re going to have those for 30 years.

What makes you think churches can take care of outside people with funds in time of need? The churches are hurting too.
Preachers are not the only ones who have to buy medical insurance and pay medical bills. Church members have to do the same.

They need to allow decoys in the street for these people who like to stick
up people. They also need decoy houses all set up
and tempting to home burglars.
