Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Buying and publishing a magazine to promote Hinesville will only amplify what it really is. The city council needs to understand that image and pride in a city is part of its citizenry. Few people here have pride in the city. Just look at all the junk in people’s yards.

I cannot believe they are trying to teach our kids Spanish in pre-K. I’m so glad my son is out of pre-K and in a real school. This is America. Keep our kids speaking English. And the people who don’t know English should learn it.

I wish Hinesville Police officers would enforce, or make these kids pull their pants up. We do not want to see half their underwear. It’s just nasty.

Well Hinesville, Liberty County, you didn’t do what I asked you to do. So now
you’ve lost out on your water park. Savannah’s getting one. Aren’t you ashamed?

Thanks, Hinesville, it’s so nice to see our tax dollars being wasted on a transit
system when the city is only two miles long and we’ve got so many potholes in the
road that need to be fixed, and to see the water department getting a huge new
building. Keep it up.
