Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

The teachers have adjusted to the three state furlough days in this semester. Now the board of education has taxed us with local furlough days, all of which will be in December. Where did this come from and why was no one told of it?

It is not fair that you can call a city official when you get a speeding ticket and they’ll call the police and you don’t have pay. What about the ones that don’t know a city official?
I seen on CNN news where physicians are going to get their license revoked if they prescribe too much pain medication to patients. Bravo, it’s about time. There’s a lot of that that goes on.

There used to be two things certain in life: death and taxes. Add number three: Comcast raising their prices every year.

Mr. Dixon, the Soldier Spur and the VVA newsletter was totally amazing. Courier, I wish you could print it so everyone could enjoy it.

Mr. Baker, a bus driver with the Liberty County School System, is absolutely wonderful. He is an asset to the system.

I just come through Walthourville, a little after 9, and one of those cars from Flemington, city of Flemington, just flew by me. They need to have a word with him. The guy needs to learn how to drive.
