Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:


I’d like to know if the mayor and council are aware of the Hinesville firefighters using a city fire truck to do personal shopping at the Fort Stewart Commissary?

Some of these parents are just as irresponsible as their children. They are at Bradwell, a high school. If they can’t keep their shirt tails tucked in they should be suspended. Have them follow the rules.
The Simmons Fowler wildlife reunion was once again a success. There was a large turnout this year. Congratulations.

Don’t worry, be happy, there will be no furloughs for Long County employees this year. The commission found extra money, so much money two more positions have been created, animal control. It’s nice to have money.
The $59,000 they were going to spend on that new magazine, please put that money toward covered seats at the new bus stops for the elderly people when it rains.

I wonder how come if the teachers at Smiley Elementary in Ludowici are a minute late they get docked in pay and disciplined, but yet supervision can keep them after school for meetings without compensation.
