Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier cannot say if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Is Mrs. Obama’s live-in babysitter a paid federal employee? And if she is, what is her salary?

Hey we have two people running for the city council in Midway who didn’t even bother to come to the meet and greet.

When someone says they are doing too good, usually they are not. It is the people who are doing mediocre that you believe.

I wish the traffic control officers at Shoney’s on 84 would start when school lets out rather than 10 minutes after school lets out. There were 67 people waiting in line to get on 84 today and they were sitting there watching.

To the person worried about the city manager and mayor’s jobs, maybe you need to research what a public relations person does.

If you pick someone to be manager just because you like them when the real things happen you’ll have to pay for it because they will not do their job.

To the caller about the Kat Williams comedy: Katt Williams isn’t funny anyway.

I work at a convenience store and it really burns my britches when people come in here and buy four bags of chips and three 12-packs of soda and use food stamps, then use the change to buy some beer. DFACS needs to look at who really needs food stamps.

Why is the feminist movement worshipping a loser like Amelia Earhart. Actually she was a failure. She got lost and crashed. I think men way overshadow those minor abilities of the feminist movement heroes.

My family attended Oktoberfest in Hinesville and enjoyed it very much. But one problem was the location of the port-a-potties. It was way too dark around them. Please fix it next year.

If you have a problem everywhere you go, maybe the problem lies within yourself.
