Congratulations to the candidates seeking office for sheriff. Once you’re in office I hope you do what you promise now. And that includes closing down all these watering holes, roadside cafes, stills and bootleggers that are just not fit for our county.

Midway needs another grocery store real bad. I can’t understand why we don’t have another one already.

Georgia Power needs to take furloughs and pay cuts like everyone else instead of raising the light bills.

I’m a dealer selling commercial mowers and equipment and would like to know the board’s policy on buying equipment by the maintenance department. It seems local dealers are not able to bid.

Savannah has upped the millage rate from 12.5 to 13 mills and homeowners are paying this increase due to “falling property values.” They should be thankful. Long and Liberty counties have raised theirs to 36 percent. We get fleeced more and more every year.
