Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

LOL :) to anyone that feels any type of way about those of us who use food stamps. Ha, ha, ha. Smooches.

God bless Jimmy Smith and all the other Midway All Stars in their attempt to recapture their youth. But, alas, they must come to terms with the fact that their past is over and youth is wasted on the young.

I applaud the Midway police for doing their job. I only wish Walthourville and Hinesville’s would do theres, especially on 84 which seems to have become a runway. And don’t get me started on aggressive drivers.

Without going to Keller’s Flea Market, where is the nearest place to get a funnel cake?

Let me get this straight, the black community disagreed with Bush and it was a policy discussion. Now the white community disagrees with Obama and it’s racism. When will it stop?

To the caller wanting gay and lesbian bars in Hinesville, one place you should go is to Jesus.

That was a nice letter to the editor about the Midway Police Department, but obviously that guy has never been harassed by the Midway police, such as getting pulled over for going 3 miles an hour over the limit.
