Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Let’s all call for an accounting for the million dollars plus that Long County received from Uncle Sam. After robbing taxpayers, especially farmers, since 2007, they don’t deserve this money or their jobs. Kick the bums out in November.

At Savannah Enmark gas station on 204, if you have an Enmark card, the gas runs $3.36 a gallon.

The latest rumor is the reason the Vidalia onions are so sweet is because they put sugar to them. Isn’t that wonderful? Thank you for Vidalia onions.

I could understand why most of Liberty County doesn’t obey the school zone laws. You’ve got a county sheriff’s deputy speeding through there as well. I wish I could have caught up with him and got his number.

Where is the NAACP when they’re having a flash mob, knocking people around and all this stealing and doing stuff? They need the NAACP to get in there and do something about these flash mobs.

How come a city inspections worker drives his vehicle from his home in Allenhurst to Gum Branch to eat breakfast every morning on city taxpayers’ money?

Regarding the comment on Mr. Carrier’s beard, he is at every school function, enforcing every school rule. He’s a great principal, and I’m not sure why his beard would affect you.

What happens on Sesame Street stays on Sesame Street. Mind your own business and leave Burt and Ernie alone.
