Sound off for Sept. 9

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, not do we know what motivated the callers:

Living on the east end of Liberty County, I happen to see a beautiful river every morning as we drive out of our neighborhood, but as we drive out, we see a Lazy Boy recliner and junk cars in the neighbor’s yard. Please clean up. You can borrow my truck to haul it to the dump if you need to.

If you’re wondering why you haven’t been hired at Winn Army Community Hospital, it’s because they have a good old boy system in hiring.

Greed, selfishness, gold, a stock market crash and slavery will bring about an end of society as we know it. Be careful and learn to lookout for one another as God has told us to do, because it will bring the end of time to us.

I saw where someone called Sound off and said it saddened them to know that children don’t visit their parents. I think it’s very sad when a law man out there working didn’t go to his daughter’s graduation or even send her a card.

Good job, Liberty County, on providing your $100,000 camera system, but what about air conditioning on the bus?

Canoochee sent out notices to all the customers saying they were going to receive a check. But when you call there, they tell you it’s for 1972-1974 customers only. So if you’ve been paying a $300 electric bill for 30 years, that does not mean nothing. They’re not going to give you no little refund check.

Some of these contractors are fake. I know they’re fake because they’re all over the place. They’re fake, fake, fake, these contractors are.

I think it’s very unprofessional for someone not to hire you for the color of your skin when they are the same color as the person who applied. If you do not want your own nationality to apply for this job because it’s dealing with your money, then you shouldn’t advertise it on DOL or privately.
