Here are some of the issues area residents are discussion. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor what motivated the callers:

I think a budget savings thing for Hinesville would be to do away totally with the code enforcement office, employees and everything associated with it. They don’t enforce any codes anyway.

The Hinesville Police Department is the only city entity that takes care of the citizens. Oh, pardon, also OMI. If it wasn’t for them we’d be in worse shape than we are.

I’m an AAFES worker and am wondering why
they are opening another store on post when many of us have had hours cut
because soldiers are deployed. We need our money and it’s not fair they are doing this.

This is for all the waitresses in Hinesville: We’re having a really hard time with people not tipping and us only making $2.13 an hour. They raised the minimum wage to $7.55 so we have to claim more tips. Please tip your waitress.

Who’s going to write a song for the Midway police force when they are writing people up for their windshield wipers, taillight over the tag and other things? We’re looking for a song like Ludowici in old times, going through Ludowici and being stopped for little things.

Thank you, Liberty County for employing Linda Hearn. She’s a blessing to all the businesses that recycle and a very pleasant young lady.
