Athletes from Liberty, Long, Chatham and Effingham counties will compete in the 2007 Special Olympics Georgia Area 17 Summer Games.
The event was postponed until May 16 because of bad weather. Opening ceremonies will be at 10:30 a.m. at Savannah State University.
The athletes will compete in track and field, tennis and soccer at SCDS, and golf at Bacon Park. More than 800 athletes, volunteers, coaches, and family members are expected to take part in the competition.
