Smiley Elementary School second- and third-graders recently submitted artwork for the Long County/Ludowici Christmas Parade coloring contest. The top three winners in the contest were Stephanie Piccarillo, who took third place; Makenzie Guyett, who was the runner-up; and Jonathan Proctor, who won first place. The three winning pieces will be displayed in local businesses to increase awareness about the upcoming parade.  The Long County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the contest, which was organized by SES art teacher Danielle Nobles.
“The chamber appreciates the support of Smiley Elementary School and would like to thank all of the children who participated in the contest. Also, we want to congratulate our three winners,” Chamber President Gaynelle Garrason said.
The parade is at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ludowici.
