On January 13, 1913, twenty two ambitious, sincere and visionary young women founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated on Howard University’s campus in Washington, D.C. Inspired by concern for social welfare, academic excellence and cultural enrichment, our Founders committed themselves to social consciousness and public service. During the past thirty years our local chapter has focused on their ideals to improve the quality of life in our community through service projects including: Autism Golf Tournament, Mental Health Forum, Go Red Bowling Tournament, St. Jude Children Cancer Research, Cancer Relay for Life, HBCU College Tour, Walk to Dorchester, Feed the Children Program, Manna House, Voter Registration and award several scholarships each year.
