Cup of the Month: Taylors Creek Golf Course will launch its first Cup of the Month Golf Tournament on Saturday. The stroke-play event is open to all golfers. Players are asked to register in advance at the course or by calling 912-767-2370. Briefing will be at 11:45 a.m. and tee times start at noon. Awards in regular, women, senior (50-59) and super senior (60 and older) divisions will be presented at 5 p.m. The cost is $20 per person for members and $30 for others. Cup of the Month competitions also are scheduled for March 11, April 8 and May 20.

 

Cardboard boat regatta

Mission: build a boat using only cardboard and duct tape. Requirement: boat must take you and a crewmate the length of Tominac Fitness Center’s Indoor Pool. Build your craft and enter the Cardboard Boat Regatta, which will start at 6 p.m. Feb. 23. There is no charge. Paddles provided. Trophies awarded in three categories: kid/kid, adult/adult, adult/kid. Dave and Buster's

CYS-registered youth ages 13-18 can take a bus trip with their peers to Dave and Buster’s in Jacksonville on Feb. 25 for socializing, lunch, sports, games and more. Stewart/Hunter Middle School Teen program is providing the 40-person bus. There is no cost for transportation, but teens are asked to bring $40-$50 to spend. Walking challenge

Registration continues for the MWR Walking Challenge, which begins Feb. 26. Each participant will receive a 5-Star nutrition T-shirt. The challenge can be accomplished by yourself or in teams of up to four. Prizes awarded to top team and individual. Parents Night Out

CYS is offering Parents Night Out child care for ages 6-weeks to 12-year-olds March 11 at building 403. Drop off at 5:30 p.m., pick up at 11:30. Dinner and late snack provided. The cost is $25 for the first child, $20 for each additional child. Children must be registered with CYS. Stewart/Hunter Garrison Spring Gala attendees receive $5 off if they bring their paid ticket to Parent Central Services by March 1. Late Night In

CYS-registered youth, 11-18 years old, are invited to hang out for a Late Night In from 5:30-11:30 p.m. March 11 at the Youth Activity Center on Mindoro Loop. There is no charge. Luck O' the Irish

Play Stewart/Hunter’s Luck O’ the Irish Bingo on March 11 and you might take home a pot of gold. Up to $35K in guaranteed payouts. Early buy-in is $125 per person until March 5, when it goes up to $175. Doors open at 11 a.m. and program starts at 5 p.m. Purchase price includes green beer for of age patrons. Stewart Bingo is in building 405 (912-767-4200) and Hunter Bingo is in building 6015 (912-315-4606). Only DoD ID cardholders and their guests are permitted.

 

Rocky Golf

Find out if you are the best golfer in one of three divisions during the new Rocky Golf Classic at Hunter Golf Course March 11-12. Divisions in the 36-hole stroke play event are active duty, retiree and non-military. Tee times on both days start at 10 a.m. Cost is $75 for active duty and retirees, $85 for non-military. The price includes tournament, golf cart, driving range and prizes. Deadline to enter is March 6. For more information, call 912-315-9115.

 

Bass tournament

The first of four catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be at 6:30 a.m. March 18 at Metz Pond on Fort Stewart.

Prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m.

The fee is $20 during early registration (Feb. 22-28) for soldiers, retirees and their family members and youth (15 and younger). Early sign-up is $30 for the civilians. Register at Stewart/Hunter Pass and Permit offices. Fees go up $5 on March 1

Other tournaments are scheduled April 22 at Pineview Lake, May 20 at Metz Pond and Sept. 23 at Metz Pond. Angler of the year award of $400 will be awarded at the September event.

 

Insane Inflatable 5K

Volleyball and soccer

Companies interested in intramural volleyball or soccer at Fort Stewart should submit a memo to the Bennett's Sports Complex office at Fort Stewart. Signups close March 15 for soccer, which will be played at the Sports Annex Fields at 6 and 7 p.m. Signups end March 31 for volleyball, which will be played at 6 and 7 p.m. at Newman Fitness Center. Softball on Hunter
