Fans of heavy metal and hardcore rock music will have the chance to experience local, regional and some national bands Saturday at Rocktoberfest at New Life Church on Hwy. 144 in Richmond Hill.
Organizer Brian Buchanan said the event is from noon to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and will host 42 bands, including national headliners like The Chariot, Sent By Ravens, Gideon and Day of Vengeance.
“For kids in town who are into hardcore and heavy metal there is not really a lot for them, and we thought why not try to bring in some bigger bands to play,” Buchanan said.
The all-day music festival will feature some Christian rock bands, he said, but also rock bands that simply include positive lyrics in their music.
Along with music, concert-goers can enjoy burgers from the Rock House of Tybee Island, frozen yogurt from Lovin’ Spoons along with other foods like hot dogs and cotton candy. No alcohol will be permitted.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of the concerts. Advance tickets can be purchased through any local bands that are playing at the event, Buchanan said.
